Our Team

We're a team of world class researchers and practitioners in critical thinking education with extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients including schools, universities, military and intelligence communities, the European Commission, and domestic government.

Peter Ellerton

Peter is one of the world's foremost experts on critical thinking pedagogies and an internationally invited keynote speaker. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Critical and Creative Thinking and his research focuses on the goal of improving public reasoning through education.

Dave Kinkead

Dave is a philosopher at a Queensland University where he researches how technology can enhance our reasoning processes, and the dynamics of critical thinking within group environments. In previous lives, Dave was a Naval Officer and General Manager of a small multi-national company.

Yael Leibovitch

Yael is an experienced and award-winning Education researcher, teacher-educator and lecturer. She has a Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto and a PhD from UQ. With her ‘dialogic writing toolkit’, Yael supports educators to generate critical thinking and collaboration to improve student outcomes.

Charlotte Pezaro

Charlotte is a talented science educator who is passionate about pedagogies that make meaningful impacts in the lives of both students and teachers. Once a primary school teacher, Charlotte has a PhD in science education and has worked for CSIRO and Australian Universities.

Adam Kuss

Adam works with school leaders to develop pedagogical expertise. He has previously worked as a Deputy Principal and Head of Department in Queensland schools and is now completing his PHD at the University of Queensland.

Michelle Sowey

Michelle is an educational designer and facilitator who works in schools to translate the theory of collaborative philosophical inquiry into practice. As founder and director of The Philosophy Club, she develops young people’s capacity for dialogical argument which she regards as vital to deliberative democracy.
